Flamingo Park

Everywhere the lyric life is pulsing up and though, and the lines keep their exquisite cadences while dancing across the grid of the meter—and sounding the unstoppable note in Jim’s clarinet! The sexiness of the poems, and the tender acknowledgements of time, alas, are all so very moving. I especially loved . . . poems about being Jewish, and how that shows a different tonal range, and speaks to the tribal horrors resurfacing now.
